28 Apr Backlinks are still bread and butter
Backlinks are considered to be common ranking factor but how do we know which links are best and which are not. It’s simple. Quality over quantity.
I travel to sydney nearly every day to create websites and write their content for seo. In my work schedule where I facilitate clients that need seo in sydney I manage to do a number of backlinks per day on high authority websites, everyday I aim to do at least 10 and never more than 15.
In addition to backlinks of course I am monitoring their competitors and creating better content on their blogs to throw their competitors off track and keep the momentum going.
I don’t think of my clients priority ultimately my job is to ensure my clients customers find my clients businesses and come back, my job is essentially to bridge the gap between client and customer.
Clearly google wants to step away from all of these backlinks and for a good reason, spam is out of control and small businesses, bloggers and search engine users shouldn’t have to put up with it, unfortunately that’s just how it is.
Google has to work out all of the nooks and cranny’s before it even considers stepping away from backlinks, can you imagine the internet which consists of data centres, servers and all of that infrastructure not being affected by google stepping away from backlinks?
There would have to be another system which is why for now and the very far future we can depend on backlinks to make our day or completely ruin them. I wouldn’t exactly listen to everything that Matt Cutt’s advised against backlinks, because his job is to partly scare spammers away.
It’s the google search architects that work behind the scenes that we should worry about when it comes to our precious backlinks.
YOUR BASES BELONG TO US.
If my clients came to me and told me they had purchased ten thousand backlinks off some dodgy website in an effort to speed up their rankings I think I would laugh and cry at the same time.
Cry: All of my hard work for you and your customer is gone and now you’re going to blame me for not being able to fix it.
So me being mostly a content writer in sydney consists of two things, firstly writing engaging content and secondly making sure that the content is readable and someone might just happen to share it around. Makes sense write, right?
Most websites when they are designed no one thinks about the content content comes last. Apparently. Out of all the websites I have worked on live one of the most immediate changes you notice is that when content is written well with the right H tags and amazing media, it goes far and ranks hard.
Ranking for a competitive keyword like seo in sydney can be really hard, but luckily I work with some really skilled people that can handle the stress and the competition, I mean imagine working with people who relied on dodgy backlinks to rank?
That’s the reality. Most seo agencies will write you a few hundred words here and there without actually making a difference to the keyword distribution on your website, throwing all of that work out of balance and doing more damage with a silly amount of backlinks.
So why are backlinks still important?
Backlinks are still important because they can boost your rankings significantly when used correctly, manual blog posting, guest blogging, affiliate networks, linkedin posting, social signals and of course news articles linking to your website are some of the healthiest backlinks you can use to leverage your website’s domain authority and get you some decent referral traffic.
Backlinks are important because they matter, they are a deciding factor in how important your website is and can influence the amount of traffic you get.
The big fish get bigger and the small fish get bigger. It’s just a matter of how much time you want to invest in your content and how much money or effort you are willing to put into to try and get those backlinks.
An easy way to get a high domain authority backlink is to write about something that you are passionate about and over time as you get notice, people will become completely inspired by your content and begin sharing it.
Over time doing seo in sydney I have learned that it’s not always the business owner, sometimes it’s the seo agency that doesn’t hold up their end of the bargain which is why I promise myself and all my customers that our business is to get them more business.
